Tutto il peso del cielo
Alex Urso
26.04.25 - 26.05.25
ASP Beata Lucia Church, Narni (TR)
'Tutto il peso del cielo' is the solo show by Alex Urso curated by Lorenzo Rubini. The exhibition develops as a dialogue between memory and space, between the past kept in the walls of Beata Lucia in Narni and an artistic research that explores the fragile balance between presence and absence.
The exhibition aims to be a confrontation with the history of the building, once orphanage, now a place of collective memory. The works on display are not limited to tell a story, but live in the space of the church with delicacy, leaving the traces of a past that is present. In this suspended dimension, 'Tutto il peso del cielo' becomes not only an investigation on memory, but also an act of listening and reflection.
The title of the exhibition plays on a paradox: the sky - fundamental celestial limit in the search of the artist from Marche – ultimate image of lightness, suddenly becomes heavy, oppressive. The sky is the promise of flight, but also the space from which it rushes. It becomes a starting point for our journey and the place of the end of it.
