Meri Tancredi
(b. 1976, L’Aquila - Italy)
She lives and works in Perugia. Her research focuses on the relationship between language, space, matter and perception. Questioning her own unconscious universe to relate it with a collective Time and coagulating her own reflections into semantic traces, sometimes precise and rigorous, other times labile and twisted anthropological and anthropic metaphors.
Her language develops through painting, sculpture, installations and video-audio installations. She's been conducting a research on the power of the words and communication, consequentially on the relationships with the material that supports these and the space in which they're placed. In 2022 she's part of the Sister City Light Festival for the Kulturnacht in Tübingen working for the Shedhalle Forum for Contemporary Arts. In 2020 is among the winners of the Italian selection of the New Media Art and Censorship in the Information Era of the Miami New Media Festival.
